"EXCELLENCE THROUGH EDUCATION!"

Theme for Plant City MLK 2023 -

The Legacy

The late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., once said, "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

If there were ever a time of "celebrate what's to come" the passing of 2022 and new year of 2023 should be at the forefront for all of us.

Now we stand. The Improvement League of Plant City will be hosting the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Cultural Arts Festival starting January 13, 2023 with signature events rescheduled through January 2023. The Parade and Black Brown Expo will be held on Saturday January 14, 2023 at the Plant City MLK Recreation Complex and MLK Leadership Breakfast will be held on Sunday January 15, 2023 at HCC Trinkle Center. Sunday also brings our Gospel Fest featuring Georgia Mass Choir known for their appearances in the "Preacher's Wife w/ Whitney Houston" and 1996 Olympics.

This cultural festival is generally held in Plant City during the month of January featuring a variety of family oriented activities. Timed to coincide with the national holiday commemorating the life of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Festival provides an all-inclusive setting in which citizens of every ethnic background can experience and celebrate the contributions of African Americans to the culture of Hillsborough County & West Central Florida.

The health and safety of all citizens is our top priority. Together we will over come and celebrate the legacy and principals of the the late Dr. King.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN GETTING INVOLVED?.....Click on the Schedule Tab for Parade, and Vendor.
