38TH ANNUAL PLANT CITY DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. LEADERSHIP BREAKFAST

Presented by Tampa Electric, Attorney Ted Taylor and City of Plant City

WHEN: 7:30 A.M. SUNDAY JANUARY 14, 2023

WHERE: HCC PLANT CITY CAMPUS TRINKLE CENTER

The MLK Leadership Breakfast, the Improvement League of Plant City’s premier event, is a world-class community celebration attracting local dignitaries, business, church and civic leaders to pay homage to Dr. King’s life and legacy.  The breakfast raises funds for the Sadye Gibbs Martin Scholarships awarded each year to deserving students that meet our “need” and “merit” based criteria.  Ms. Sadye Gibbs Martin was the first African American to be elected mayor of a city in the State of Florida serving as mayor for the City of Plant City for 5 terms.  She was also the first African American elected to the Florida Strawberry Festival Associate Board of Directors.

Tickets are $45 per person (47.25 online), and table sponsorships ranging from $500 to $1,500 seating 8 to 16 with branding and festival wide promotion.

The breakfast encourages individuals and corporations alike to come together for the improvement and development of the Greater City of Plant City community.

Over the past 38+ years, Plant City MLK Festival evolved from a single event to a 5 day series of activities, including the Opening Ceremony, Saturday Parade & Expo, Memorial Service, Gospel, Health Fair and exhibits at the Bing Rooming House Museum.

This annual breakfast is possible thanks to the support of sponsors, donors, volunteers, family foundations, and the dedicated MLK committee that plans the event ten months in advance.
